HOW TO PREPARE MATCHA TEA AT HOME:
To enjoy a refreshing and healthy start to your day with a
perfect cup of matcha tea, simply follow these easy steps:
Begin by placing a small sifter over a ceramic bowl. Measure out
the matcha powder and gently tap the side of the strainer to sift
the powder into the bowl, removing any lumps for a smoother
beverage. The water used should be heated to approximately 165 to
180°F, but not boiling. For an authentic taste, use a bamboo whisk
to vigorously mix the tea in crisscross motions until it becomes
frothy. If a bamboo whisk isn't available, a regular mini whisk
will work as well. This method can also be applied if you prefer to
use milk instead of water, and modern tools can be used to achieve
a perfect cup. Pour the hot water or milk into your tea or latte
vessel. Insert a large bamboo spoon slightly into the frothing cup
to retain the froth. Pour as much milk as desired. Using a bamboo
spoon, gently scoop the froth and layer it on top of the latte,
spreading it evenly. Enhance the flavor by adding agave, honey,
maple syrup, or sugar if desired, and mix well. For a visually
appealing and delicious finish, garnish your cup with a sprinkle of
matcha powder on the froth and enjoy immediately to prevent the
powder from settling at the bottom of your latte. Ingredients for
matcha tea:
1½ tbsp. (2 grams) matcha powder 1 tbsp. (15 milliliters) hot
water 1 cup (240 milliliters) of milk (e.g., cow, coconut, almond)
1 tbsp. agave 1 tbsp. maple syrup 1 tbsp. honey 1 tbsp. sugar

What is Blooming for Bamboo Matcha
- Our Chasen whisk is created from natural bamboo and subject to
natural wear and decline. A healthy Chasen will assure that the
natural infusions and essence of your quality Japanese matcha is
optimized with each bowl.
- When you first open a new Chasen, you will notice that the core
of the whisk is tight. But once you begin using it, the core will
loosen up and enhance the whisking process. This is called
“blooming”. Which is normal & regular. Strings will becomes
more and more straight & Long during long times using.
Follow the steps below to assure that your bamboo Chasen
lasts for years. Part-1
CLEAN YOUR CHASEN BEFORE AND AFTER EACH USE
Clean your Chasen before the first use. This simply removes any
impurities that may have occurred during packaging and transit and
loosens the core. To clean the Chasen use either of the following
options:
1.Fill a bowl or Chasen with hot or boiled water and immerse the
Chasen tines for about 30 seconds.
2. Hold the Chasen strings under gently running hot or boiled
water for a few seconds to remove any residue.
Note: a. lean your Chasen the same way after each use. b. Never
leave the Chasen handle soaking in water as it can crack or
fray.
After you have made your matcha and washed the Chasen, it is
imperative that you allow it to dry thoroughly. The best way to dry
your Chasen is to rest it on a Chasen holder. If you don't have a
Chasen holder, then dry the Chasen by standing it on its handle,
never the strings.
Note: If your bamboo Chasen is not properly dried, damp tines
can grow mold or splinter due to the natural wood product from
which it is made. Additionally, the fragile Chasen strings could
become loose or fall out completely and minimize the effectiveness
of the whisk.
Proper storage of your Chasen is probably the main way to
achieve an optimal life. It is best to store your Chasen the same
way you dried it, preferably on a whisk holder. Storing the Chasen
on a holder helps to maintain the shape of the bamboo strings and
will prevent premature damage, as well.
