******* ORDERING YOUR CORRECT SIZE ******* 1) Confirm your filter size matches your vent cover order. 2) Remove your current metal return air vent and air filter. 3) Measure INSIDE the actual duct opening with all pieces removed. DO NOT measure your grille. Your HVAC opening must be slightly larger than the size you order. We require your duct opening has a minimum 1/8” additional width and length to accommodate the metal sleeve that holds the vent cover. It should have a minimum measurement of 14 1/8" Wide... Show more ******* ORDERING YOUR CORRECT SIZE ******* 1) Confirm your filter size matches your vent cover order. 2) Remove your current metal return air vent and air filter. 3) Measure INSIDE the actual duct opening with all pieces removed. It should have a minimum measurement of 14 1/8" Wide by 25 1/8" Tall. See attached graphic. ******* CHOOSE THE CORRECT ORIENTATION ******* 14" wide x 25" high - Louvers go the width measurement ( left to right) and must be ordered the correct orientation. This vent has louvers running the 14" measurement. Avoid the louvers going the wrong way. ******* CHECK FOR CLEARANCE INSIDE THE DUCT ******* Inside the duct there must be 3” of clearance. To check this, remove your filter and make sure there is nothing sticking out from the sides of the duct that could prevent the metal sleeve from going in. ******* CHECK FOR COMPATIBILITY ******* Not compatible with many Galvanized Sheet Metal Ducts that tend to be smaller than the nominal sized opening. Not compatible with 1” metal washable filters. Not compatible as a floor grate. ******* CHECK FOR SPACE ON THE WALL AROUND THE DUCT ******* Our products require 2" of space outside the duct for the Vent Cover to go flush against the wall. For example, there can be no baseboard or millwork trim within that 2” of space on the wall around the duct. Every AC vent is made from solid wood and PRIMED white and ready to paint. Every vent cover arrives with a light white primer, allowing for seamless color matching with your walls or trim. We recommend applying an enamel topcoat to protect from humidity associated with HVAC systems. Engineered for optimized airflow and home air filter performance.
