Before you reach for antibiotics here are a few thing you can try- Nasal Steroids are great at opening up inflammation. Spray 5-7 times inside the nostril on the side that the ear hurts. (Good down to the age of 2). Dramamine can help reduce swelling around the ear. (Good down to the age of 2). Earache drops with belladona and sulfur will also help. Lozenges with 15 mg of benzocaine can help numb up the nerve that is connected to the ear pain. And as always ibuprofen can help with pain and inflammation!
