Vincent van Gogh’s Final Days
In the summer of 1890, the renowned Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh found himself in a profound emotional crisis. After years of battling mental health issues and experiencing a tumultuous relationship with his art, van Gogh’s struggles culminated during this tragic period. On July 27, 1890, he tragically shot himself in the chest while walking in a wheat field near Auvers-sur-Oise, a small town in France where he had been living and working. Despite surviving the initial incident, he succumbed to his injuries two days later on July 29, 1890.
